COMMUNITIES NOT CAGES: Formerly Detained Immigrant and Cleveland Leaders Join National Day of Action to End Immigration Detention and Deportation

Cleveland — On March 3, immigrant leaders, advocates, and allies will gather outside the Carl B. Stokes Federal Courthouse to demand an end to immigration detention and deportations, as part of the “Communities Not Cages” national day of action. Diop, a local man who was previously detained in immigration jail, will also speak. 

WHAT: Action to demand the Biden administration close immigration detention centers, including the Seneca and Geauga County Jails, release people from detention, end deportations, and cut ICE and CBP’s budget WHEN: March 3, 2022 @ 4pm ETWHERE: Carl B. The action is being organized by  IRTF - The InterReligious Task Force on Central America and Colombia, the Greater Cleveland Immigrant Support Network, and partners. Events are scheduled on March 3 in nearly two dozen cities around the country, including Dayton and Cleveland, Ohio.
